Congratulations to the four boats (Clytie, Frunobulax, Never Alone, and Patriot) who made it out for what by all reports was a pleasantly cool spring day of sailing last Saturday.
This Saturday May 24 is the DYC Memorial Regatta. Race instructions and party invitation here: http://drya.org/race2014/SIs/DYCSIs14.pdf First warning is at 10:30 am off of GPYC, with our start on the 12.28 nm short course listed as the tenth start of the day. The finish is at DYC…which is the location of a very nice party. $12 all-inclusive dinner is cheap even by Cal 25 standards. Party includes:
Island wear contest
Bongo contest
Limbo contest
Grass (skirts and leis)
Jenga (look it up;))
RC Sailboat racing
…and the weather is forecast to be 72 degrees and sunny.
DYC is really trying to make this a great event. Let’s support them in force. Last year was a lot of fun – we had around five Cal 25 crews at the party – but wouldn’t it be great if we got a dozen-plus boats on the line and then all pulled into DYC for the party? Roy says we can all use his well and dockbox in whatever way we see fit…heh-heh-heh.
