2015 Bayview Long Distance Race

Kudos to the four boats who went out in some chilly and windy conditions this past Saturday: Second Wind, Frunobulax, Clytie, and Patriot. The DYC Sweepstakes turned out to be another windward/leeward race day in which just one race got run….noting that the entire season yielded us only 5 windward/leeward races as we had one regatta cancelled and the GPSC regatta was the w/l only day in which the fleet got off two races. The being said, we have taken a look at the season scoring and even with the two throwouts we voted on as a fleet the numbers still make sense.

This Saturday is the Bayview Long Distance Race. Notice of Race here: http://drya.org/race2015/SIs/BYCLDNOR.pdf

Sailing Instructions here:

Note that the race has gone back to being a night race; first warning signal is at 5 pm and the Cal 25 course is 31.3 NM so definitely some after-dark sailing. I will be at a wedding that night instead of on the lake – sail safe, sail fast, and get home before sunrise!

Saturday September 19: BYC Long Distance (distance)
Saturday September 26: GPYC Bluenose (distance)
Saturday October 3: BYC North Channel (distance)
November ?: Fall meeting

Thanks,

Dave
